Play a key role in building the financial backbone of a pioneering space startup, where your expertise in tax and accounting directly fuels innovation.
Responsibilities.
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including fixed assets, month-end and year-end closings, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure tax compliance across all filings (VAT, CIT, withholdings) and maintain an up-to-date tax calendar with AEAT.
- Lead the management of R&D&I tax deductions and Social Security bonuses under Spanish Corporate Income Tax regulations.
- Oversee grant accounting and cost allocation to active R&D projects in line with PGC standards.
- Drive the internalization of accounting operations in close collaboration with the Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Skills.
Must Have
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role combining accounting and taxation.
- Proven experience with public grants or R&D projects (CDTI, AEI, Horizon Europe).
- Proficient use of Holded or an equivalent accounting ERP.
- Strong command of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (PGC 2007) and current Spanish tax regulations.
- Knowledge of R&D&I tax deductions under Corporate Income Tax and accounting capitalization of research projects.
- Familiarity with public grant accounting (capital vs. operating).
- Proficiency in office tools: advanced Excel and Google Workspace.
- High organizational capacity and attention to detail.
- Autonomy and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to identifying and correcting deviations.
- Strong communication skills and team player mindset.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s in Tax Advisory or Accounting and Auditing is a plus.
- Experience in technology-based companies or startups is a plus.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
